Fault codes in plain English
Stored, pending and permanent codes, decoded per ECU so you don't chase phantom codes. Readiness monitors, freeze frame and calibration IDs alongside. Point the camera at the VIN plate and the car adds itself to your garage.
Decoding is deterministic and grounded in a curated fault-code library. The AI never invents what a code means.
Record a drive. Let the engine look for patterns.
Live gauges stream from the car while you drive. The findings engine then cross-checks every sensor against the others, fuel trims, lambda, timing, temperatures, and surfaces problems that fault codes miss. Findings are ranked by severity, with the evidence shown.
The engine runs on the phone. It works with no signal and costs nothing per use.
Buying used? Run the inspection.
Plug in and it flags the classic trick, fault memory wiped just before sale. Work through a guided 20-point walkaround, the physical half of a lemon check no scanner app attempts. Then record the test drive and let the engine catch what only shows under load. Skipped checks are reported as unknowns, never as passes.

A report you can hand over
Branded, readable PDF reports generated on the phone: health score, codes, findings, drive summary. Hand it to the workshop, attach it to a sale listing, or keep it as the car's history.

Demo mode runs the entire app on a simulated car: live gauges, a recorded drive, a fault scan, a full AI diagnosis and a PDF report. Every demo screen glows a different colour and is watermarked, so it can never be mistaken for a real read.
It doubles as the tutorial, guided by the Motorsmith mascot.
Every car since 2008 broadcasts what's wrong with it. The tools either dump codes or charge a subscription.
Honest constraint: standard OBD-II is shallow for performance diagnosis. Boost, knock and per-cylinder air-fuel need manufacturer-specific data, which comes car by car. The app says what it can and can't see for your vehicle.
