Formation is a form. Onboarding is the product.

Registering a company takes ten minutes and any website will do it. What follows is the hard part: the constitution, the shareholders agreement, the IP deed, the consents and first minutes, then every hire after that. Onboard walks a company through all of it, generates the documents, checks the pack, and keeps every rate and threshold in it verified against the official source.

The app

Three tabs, one company, every document checked. Real screens.

Screenshots from the current build with a fictional company, Southcoast Fitouts Pty Ltd, and fictional founders. Every figure shown was verified against its source on the day of capture.

FY-sensitive figures: super guarantee rate, GST threshold, ASIC fees and minimum wage, each with its stored value, period, verified status, last-checked time and a link to the official source

Verify by presence

Super guarantee, GST threshold, ASIC fees, the national minimum wage. Each one is stored with the official page it came from. Sync re-fetches those pages and confirms the figure still appears there. Anything the new financial year changed lights up with a warning and the link, instead of quietly serving last year's number.

In its first live run this caught the minimum wage moving to $26.44 and a relocated ASIC fees page. That is the reason it's a subscription, not a one-off document.

Founding documents tab with a verification list: no unfilled fields, draft banner on every document, company name consistent, ACN passes the ASIC checksum, signature blocks present, each document opens

A pack that checks itself before you open it

Company and founders on one screen, rules and banking beside them, and the founding documents generated from that: shareholders agreement, IP assignment deed, consents and first minutes. Then ten checks run across the pack. No unfilled fields, the company name consistent in every file, the ACN passing the ASIC checksum, signature blocks present, every file opening cleanly.

Three service levels on every step: DIY, DIY with care, or Professional, with the time each one takes.

Generated shareholders agreement: IP, confidentiality and restraint clauses, then signature lines and an execution block under section 127(1) of the Corporations Act for two directors

Execution blocks that match the company

The most common error in a DIY pack is an execution clause that doesn't fit the company signing it. Onboard reads the founders and produces the right block: two directors here, under section 127(1), with no witness lines where the Act doesn't want them. The clauses above it carry review notes where a lawyer should look, such as the restraint's scope.

Documents export as Word files. Every one carries a draft banner until it's reviewed.

New starter tab: name, title, start date, engagement type, basis, hours, salary, pay cycle, probation, notice, location and prior IP, with a Generate starter pack button

Every hire, not just the first day

Formation happens once. Hiring happens every time the company grows, and small employers get it wrong constantly: offer letter, confidentiality and IP deed, TFN declaration, super choice, the Fair Work statement, award check. The new-starter tab takes the details and generates the pack, with the rates it uses drawn from the same verified figures.

This is the part that recurs, and the part accountants hate doing by hand.

Why it exists

Because formation is commoditised, and what comes after it isn't.

For accountants, not foundersBuilt for the people who set up dozens of companies a year and carry the risk when a pack is wrong.
Compliance freshnessFacts are re-verified on a schedule. A pack generated in March is still right in November, or you're told exactly why it isn't.
Real documents, checkedConstitution, shareholders agreement, IP deed, consents, minutes, starter packs. Ten checks across the pack before it's handed over.
Honest labelsEvery document says draft. Every screen says "drafts, not advice". Review stays with the professional.

Honest constraint: Onboard is not a law firm and not an ASIC registered agent. It produces well-formed drafts from verified facts and tells you what to lodge and where. Lodging on your behalf would change what it is, and that's a decision still open.
